Food Office Hours:

Monday: Closed

Friday: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

*Every third Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of each month is designated for CSFP box distribution.

Some of the Services Provided:

  • FML Food Program: This program allows those who are eligible, to get food/essential items every month.

  • TEFAP Food Program: This is an Emergency Food Assistance Program provided by the USDA.

  • CSFP (Senior) Program : This program is specifically for senior citizens of Anson County who are 60 or older and meet the required gross income guidelines.

  • Disaster Relief Items: When available, we provide essential items to those in Anson County that have been victims of house fires or natural disasters, acute homeless situations, and domestic violence.

Applying for Food Programs:

*The information needed in the application process is self-declared and DOES NOT require any ID or documentation.

  • Apply in person.

  • Must meet USDA Income Guidelines. Gross income must be counted for every income-earning resident.

  • If you receive FNS (Food Stamps) you are automatically approved for the Food Programs.

  • Please know the birthdates of every household member when you come to apply for the food programs.

Applying for CSFP (Senior Program):

  • Apply in person.

  • Reside in Anson County.

  • Be 60 or older. If there are two or more eligible applicants in the household, each can apply and receive a box.

  • Bring valid ID.

  • Must meet CSFP household income guidelines. Gross income must be counted for every income-earning resident.


Disaster Relief Program:

  • If you have been victim to a house fire, please contact us. You will need to provide a copy of the fire report before receiving assistance.

  • If you have been in a domestic violence situation, contact us for assistance.

  • For other Disaster Relief needs, please contact us and explain your situation to the best of your ability. We strive to help as much as possible!


Income Guidelines:

The federally-funded program distributes USDA food and is administered by the NC Department of Agriculture through Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, which recently added the Community Shelter as a program collaborator. In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA.
Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g. Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.), should contact the Agency (State or local) where they applied for benefits. Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339. Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.
To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, (AD-3027) found online at: http://www.ascr.usda.gov/complaint_filing_cust.html, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. To request a copy of the complaint form, call (866) 632-9992. Submit your completed form or letter to USDA by:
